After winning awards directing music videos for David Fincher’s Propaganda Films, working with artists such as: Des’ree, En Vogue, Marc Cohn, Metallica, Shania Twain, Slayer, Texas and The Gypsy Kings, Markus entered commercial filmmaking and was quickly hailed by the Cannes issue of  ‘Campaign Magazine’ as “one of the world’s hottest new directors.

Blazing a trail of award-winning global campaigns for various world famous brands, Markus returned to his Austrian roots in 2013 to direct his debut feature, ‘Autumn Blood’ (picked up by Netflix US and Amazon Prime) which won worldwide critical acclaim and Best Picture awards at the San Diego and Hollywood film festivals. In fact, LA Weekly described ‘Autumn Blood’ as  “if Herzog had decided to film a Western in the Austrian Alps”.

Next, Markus has recently helmed ‘Ghost Ships’, expected to air in 2024.
